Character Name: Konatsu Warren
Canon: 07-GHOST
Age: 18
Gender: Male

Canon Point: Chapter 89
History: Here!
Personality: Konatsu is not the most skilled, experienced, or talented of the Black Hakws. By far, he's the least remarkable of all of them, except in how remarkably plain and remarkably out of place he is -- he is someone that cannot use Wars (a sort of powerful and rare dark magic) and yet he's a member of a group that specializes in such.

And yet, as far as Konatsu is concerned that's just fine. He's not doing what he is for the sake of fame or recognition. In his mind, he exists to serve; he's trained all his life to be able to protect Ayanami and has achieved a position where doing so is not only possible, but is actually his job. He fulfills his duty as Hyuuga's begleiter diligently, as well, despite the many, many, many headaches he receives in the process of doing so. He'll carefully complete any paperwork that's dumped on him, and even when he yells at Hyuuga to do it himself Konatsu tends to be less concerned for himself and more for Hyuuga. Life will be more difficult for the Major if he falls behind, after all.

Put simply, Konatsu is just about the best subordinate one could hope for. He's obedient without sacrificing his intelligence, ambitious enough to benefit his superiors without getting in their way and, above all else, loyal. It would be a stretch to say that everything Konatsu does is in service to the Black Hawks and Ayanami, but it's a close thing. He has ambitions of his own but most of those he thinks about in terms of far-future plans. Konatsu watches after himself, but he would be lying if he said that wasn't mostly because his death would be inconveniencing and worse for Hyuuga.

However, his loyalty reaches such an extent that it can turn right around and become detrimental to his health. If it's to protect Hyuuga or Ayanami, Konatsu doesn't balk at facing opponents that direly outclass him. It combines unpleasantly with his strong will at times. The same stubbornness that saw him picking himself up again and again despite suffering from broken bones and lacerations also sees him staring down enemies that could and would murder him without breaking a sweat. There are many, many instances where he's stood against enemies when turning around and running away would have been the much smarter, safer course of action. He doesn't, though, because running could cause trouble for Ayanami and Hyuuga.

Konatsu approaches everything in life with a very serious state of mind. There's no (or at least very little) joking around or playing games in Konatsu's daily schedule. He's very duty-minded and considers his job as a member of the Black Hawks his absolute top priority. However, Konatsu isn't completely serious and blank-faced all of the time. There are very rare moments where Konatsu can be seen playing along with the antics of his companions, and more common moments where he loses his cool. After being 'adopted' as Shuri's older brother he had one of these moments -- Shuri combined with Hyuuga's usual lazy behavior combined with being told that he would be training a pair of twins that couldn't even speak the same language as the rest of them... It was enough to send Konatsu into a frenzy of frustrated anger and force Hyuuga to pick him up and dangle him until he calmed down. He's got a bit of a dramatic steak, as well, and can be a little over-the-top when it comes to bemoaning Hyuuga's shortcomings.

It's moments like these that prove that, as much as Konatsu wishes otherwise, he's fairly high strung. Relaxing isn't just something he doesn't often do, it's something that's very hard for him to do. He doesn't take his position for granted, and every day he works just as hard to prove he deserves it as he did to earn it. This state of mind is a sharp contrast to that of Hyuuga, Konatsu's brilliant, skilled, and lazy direct superior. It's a source of frequent frustration for Konatsu, who frequently gets tasked with completing Hyuuga's paperwork. He does it, and he doesn't try to shirk his duty, but complaints about Hyuuga's lack of dedication to the menial but vital parts of his job are frequent.

Fortunately, Konatsu is very polite, as well as being keenly aware of rank and station. He always addresses those around him properly and formerly. This extends to respect for the dead as well. Konatsu doesn't revel in bloodshed and feel no joy in ending the lives of enemies, and is quick to scold someone that reacts to death gleefully. He shows a surprising amount of compassion for someone of his rank and occupation. He allowed Shuri, recently traumatized by his first encounter with the brutality of war, to sob and cling to him in the aftermath of battle. He expresses genuine concern when Teito, who had been manipulated into working with the Black Hawks at the time, became ill after passing out.

But Konatsu isn't a bleeding heart by any stretch of the imagination. There are multiple instances when it becomes clear that his sense of propriety extends further than his compassion. He pays his respects at the funeral of Wakaba Oak, the military's leader, but the man was a hinderance to Ayanami. Konatsu felt nothing at Wakaba's death. In the end, Konatsu is a Black Hawk and he's loyal only to the other Black Hawks.

Powers: Canon is never clear on what powers, if any, Konatsu actually has -- it mostly just focuses on a specific type of power that he doesn't have. Because of that, I'm going to play it safe and assume that he has no significant powers beyond being really good with a sword.

Character Name: Kasuka Heiwajima
Canon: Durarara!!
Age: 21
Gender: M

Canon Point: post-vol 4
History: wikia or an old app for more wordsing
Personality:
Kasuka is the poster child for nurture in the nature vs nurture psychology debate. Though he was born a quiet person, he himself states that he laughed and cried like any other little boy when he was young. He was a bit headstrong, judging by his brazen theft of his brother's pudding and lack of reaction to his initial anger, and mostly normal. However, as he grew up surrounded by bouts of violence, he began to withdraw. From his point of view, he needed to -- he could see that strong emotion caused trouble, and worried somewhat about turning out as volatile as Shizuo. He also worried that his own emotive behavior would trigger his brother's problems, and while he was never and is still not afraid that Shizuo will hurt him, he has always considered it his duty to be the level-headed one, in order to sort out situations when they are both present. His brother is very important to him, and he easily admits that his entire psychological self-mutilation is because of him. Yet, he respects Shizuo despite his problems, and holds a steadfast and unbreakable faith that his big brother is a good person with a good heart who deserves to live a good life.

However, now that they're grown and not around each other as much, Kasuka's become much more aware of himself as an individual. He recognises that he isn't normal, and in fact considers himself an incomplete human being -- an existence less than human. He longs, more than anyone in the world could, to feel things the way a normal human does. It isn't just that he hides his emotions, after all -- he doesn't consciously feel them at all. Yell at him, insult him, threaten his well-being -- he won't feel anger or sadness or fear. He suppresses his subconscious reactions to the point that all he feels in most cases is an icy, calm emptiness, and the ache that comes from knowing there ought to be more there. And the thing is that it is there. Subconsciously, he feels things a normal human would. It's even hinted that if his walls came down he'd have a bit of a temper himself. So it isn't that he doesn't, deep down, react to things -- it's simply that he has repressed those feelings so completely that he doesn't consciously feel them at all. He'll do things that a normal person would do because of emotions, like showing the compassion to protect someone he hardly knows, or the humor to name his cat "Yuigadokusonmaru", which translates roughly to "Mr. Holier-than-thou". He sucks up to Ruri when she's threatening to kill him, and even seems to understand and feel sorry for her -- but if asked why he's saying or doing something, he'll say he doesn't know, and he really doesn't. Even if a feeling is strong enough to give him a physical reaction -- racing heart, for example -- he won't be able to name what those feelings are. He can describe the physical sensation, but not the emotion behind it.

Even so, a few blips of emotion do get through. Startle or confuse him, and he'll show surprise and bewilderment for a brief moment. When Ruri was ready to end her own life, he snapped at her with a stern, angry tone. These moments are usually pretty brief, however, lasting seconds at best. The things that effect him most often and most continuously, though, are his feelings about himself. Perhaps he's a little less guarded from self-directed emotion or maybe it's just the one thing he couldn't crush entirely, but Kasuka is a somewhat sad and lonely person. He knows that he's damaged, and that aches. He considers himself less than whole, and honestly regrets the extent to which he's harmed himself in the name of protecting the people he loves. It's ingrained deeply at this point, though, and he isn't able to simply decide not to lock away his feelings. This desire to be normal and near-awe of emotion has a few telling effects on the way he conducts himself, too. First of all, he respects all sorts of people -- you have to prove yourself unbearable before he'll make judgements, and his only pet peeve is when people judge each other based on rumors or assumptions rather than getting to know them. This stems a little from his relationship with his brother, too -- Shizuo is someone who's frequently judged by surface assumptions and hear-say, and that irritates Kasuka to no end. The second thing is in his dedication to his career -- through acting, Kasuka simulates the emotion of others. He considers every single role valuable and every character is a respected human being to him, because their various feelings allow him to take the mantle of human thought and feeling onto himself. He hopes that by continuing to portray all of these people he'll begin to understand how they work in a less objective way, and maybe someday unlock his own feelings.

That said, acting is honestly Kasuka's number one priority aside from his family. While he'd drop or put things on hold for the important people in his life (his parents, brother, and girlfriend being the only people that close), there isn't anything else that would cause him to break his work schedule. When Ruri is threatening his life, she asks what he has left to do that makes him want to live, and he says he needs to finish work on his current film. Since he sees acting as his only outlet and his only chance of psychological recovery, it really is that important to him.

It's a good thing he holds his work and his loved ones in high regard, too, as otherwise Kasuka has little to no sense of his own value as a person or as a business asset. It's directly stated in canon that while he is capable of reasonable self-defense, it's still dangerous to let him wander off alone because he doesn't have a sense of self-worth and might not try enough to protect himself. In fact, in one anecdote in the excerpt of his in-universe wiki that's in the novels, it says that a show something like the American Punk'd sent people dressed as delinquents to harass him and threaten him into cutting off his own little finger. In that situation, he didn't argue or even question -- he took the knife they gave him and was fully ready to follow orders until the show's staff ran in to stop him. This also shows that he's a bit gullible and somewhat a follower -- Kasuka tends to do what he's told, simply because he doesn't see why he shouldn't and doesn't have any feeling of indignation or fear when pushed around. If it makes logical sense and isn't outright stupid, he's easy to convince to do something. He does have a moral sense, though, and wouldn't do something he thought of as "wrong". On the flip side, he’s secretive and protective of his family, and will stubbornly refuse to be manipulated into saying or doing anything that’d cause them unwanted attention or trouble.

Kasuka is also a very fast learner. He has too many hobbies to list on his official profile, simply because every time he takes an interest in something he goes right ahead and learns to do it. He's smart, and infinitely patient (once, he sat on the phone in silence with a stalker for 20 hours til they got so freaked out they hung up and turned themselves in), so he isn't likely to get discouraged or overexcited and make mistakes. This doesn't mean he's instantly amazing at everything he does, of course. He still needs to learn, it's simply that his calm persistence lends well to gaining skills. That kind of detached, objective thought makes it hard for him to follow abstract patterns, though. For example, he hates chewing gum just because he isn't good at figuring out when he's been chewing it long enough to spit it out. Things that rely on intuition and subjective action leave him stranded, as do situations requiring a lot of tact. Since he doesn't understand other people's emotions very well (though he is quite good at following lines of logic, particularly theatrically cliched ones), it's tough for him to know when it is and isn't appropriate to be blunt or vague. Due to this, it can be assumed -- though it's never expressly said -- that his more creative hobbies tend towards the real rather than the imaginative. He's likely to make a practical object out of wood, to use other people's words in calligraphy, and to paint things that are in front of him when he paints. His sense of style is pretty weird, too -- though he has money out his ears and is the only tenant of an entire luxury apartment building that he owns, he dresses in a combo of designer and super-cheap clothes, sometimes throwing on 100-yen store accessories with super-expensive outfits and the like. Though he loves fancy cars (he has eight of them), his taste in food runs to the simple -- dairy products, flan pudding even out of plastic cups, and homemade curry. He eats pasta from bars and takes home convenience store dinners, then proceeds to eat them surrounded in super-high-end decor. It also could be noted that despite being of legal age, Kasuka doesn't usually drink alcohol.

Overall, though Kasuka gives off a sense of being unrealistically and even annoyingly perfect to strangers, he's actually a young man with a lot of problems who isn't quite sure where he's going in life. He's just riding along, doing his best at what he can do and trying to find a way to be happy. Still, that doesn't show through easily -- it could easily be said that the only people who understand him are Ruri, Shizuo, and maybe his parents. To everyone else, he comes across as an ice cold beauty that's always existing somewhere above their heads. Since it's impossible to tell what he's thinking, most people assume he's actually uptight, standoffish, or temperamental. In fact, after the infamous angel-devil photo (which was apparently very tough on Kasuka), a rumor got around that he was secretly angry, and his icy stare was scary enough in combination with that rumor that the president of Jack Lantern Japan, Max Sandshield, actually took a two-week trip back to the USA to avoid his (actually nonexistent) wrath. At the end of the day, though, he's a nice guy who would really love to connect to the world around him.

Character Name: Nanako Dojima
Canon: Personality Disorders 4
Age: 7
Gender: female

Canon Point: post true ending
History: everyday's great at your Junes

Personality:
"It's okay. Even if I don't have a mom, I have Dad with me. And now I have a brother, too."

Nanako is everything you'd expect from a normal young girl: she's innocent, sweet, and very kind. She is very well-mannered and is generally caring to those who are important to her and even people she doesn't know very well. What sets her apart from most children is her maturity and inner strength. Having lost her mother in a car accident when she was very little, she had to deal with taking care of not only herself, but her father as well. Most of the household chores became her responsibility, and she diligently does them without complaint every morning and after she comes home from school. For a child her age, Nanako does not have an easy life, especially with her father's busy work schedule. Being a detective, he often spends his nights working in his office at the police station, leaving Nanako at home by herself. As such, Nanako is often plagued by loneliness and thoughts of her father loving his job more than he does her. Yet she does an admirable job to keep going and to do her best.

Her most important relationship in the game is with her cousin, the Protagonist. Through the year that he spends living with Nanako and her father in Inaba, he helps mend their strained relationship and helps her understand him. Over time, Nanako opens up to the Protagonist a lot, expressing her anxiety over whether or not her father truly loves her, or if he still remembers the times when her mother was alive and the outings they would have on his days off. She often asks the Protagonist about life and death, wondering if good people go to Heaven when they die, which alludes to how much she really misses her mother. In fact, when Nanako gets kidnapped and thrown into the TV, her world consists of a child's version of Heaven, reflecting her innocence and her desire to see her mother again.

Nanako is often praised for her strength and will by many of the characters in the game, which makes her a favorite among people she knows. It is noted more than once that Nanako often bears her sadness stoically, and hardly ever cries even during times when she is very upset. She holds an important spot in not only the Protagonist's heart, but in the rest of the Investigation Team as well, becoming a source of light and happiness amidst all the chaos they must deal with in solving the murder cases. Despite her young age, she has a strong sense of right and wrong; which is rather fitting since Nanako's Social Link is the Justice Arcana. However, it is also because of her age and naivete she usually doesn't understand what goes on around her, often misinterpreting the discussions between her father and the Protagonist as arguments (though in her defense, it's not hard to interpret Dojima's "questioning" as interrogation). When that happens, she is quick to interject, asking Dojima if they're fighting. It's usually an effective way of alleviating the tension and getting him to change the subject.

Character Name: Shizuo Heiwajima
Canon: Durarara!!!
Age: 23
Gender: Male

Canon Point: Post-Shooting.
History: I don't understand how this guy isn't locked up.
Personality: The Monster of Ikebukuro. Violence Incarnate.

These are but a few of the many titles people have come to associate with this man. It is not an exaggeration to say that, for most, it's best to avoid the tall, lanky blonde man at all costs. His famous hair trigger temper, combined with his ability to preform amazing feats of strength, means that he could go off at any second and become a deadly force. Vending machines, street lights, traffic signs - anything can be made into a weapon, and that weapon could be used against you. In fits of irrational rage, even a dirty look from a stranger could set him into a blind fury. There is no verbal warning. You'll see nothing other than his slasher smile and crushed cigarette before you find his fist firmly lodged in your face.

Shizuo is completely incapable of controlling his temper. When enraged, his mind simply blanks and all thoughts are replaced with the need to destroy. He gives in to those horrible impulses and allows them to run their course, regaining himself only after a substantial amount of damage has been done to the enemy and surrounding area, or until something shocks him into his senses. He also uses words as a way to calm himself. By channeling his destructive impulses into a verbal mantra of 'kill kill kill' in times he absolutely must remain calm, he's able to maintain a thin hold on his temper. Until something else sets him off. His temper itself also has a shockingly fast cooldown time. A distraction can make all the difference between tearing out another sign or walking off to the next job.

One might expect that, with that sort of weakness, he prefers violence to anything else and prides himself on his inhuman strength and lives for the thrill of battle. In reality, Shizuo cannot stand violence. He loathes it. He hates hurting people and would much rather live a normal life, as a normal person. There was no violent TV or video games to influence him, his parents were normal, and his brother was just like any other little brother - Shizuo blames and, in some way, hates himself for what he has grown up to be.

The real Shizuo Heiwajima, the man underneath the monster, is quite soft spoken and gentle. He is a man who just wants to live in society. He wants a normal life. A job, a day without rage, normal friends - but has to settle for living as normally as he can with who he is.

Shizuo has somewhat detached himself from society and most of humanity, limiting social interactions to the bare minimum - which is difficult, as Shizuo admits that he cannot live completely alone and needs to interact with the world. The few people he is close to greatly vary in importance to him. The scale runs from his younger brother, Kasuka, whose opinion means the world to him, to Celty, who is a soothing presence and an important friend to him, to Izaya - who he would love to see dead. Due to his limited social experience, he often comes across as somewhat rude. For example, Shizuo often forgoes honorifics due to his stunted social growth.

Finally, Shizuo is not the sharpest tool in the shed. While not stupid, he isn't winning any academic awards and easy to fool. He prefers straightforward explanations, straightforward people, and gets frustrated when people dance around a subject or give him a complicated answer.
Powers: Three words:

Super. Human. Strength.

The normal human body is limited to only a third of it's strength. Were it to use all the power it was capable of, it would most likely destroy itself in the process. The limiters are only released when in a crisis, allowing people to do superhuman feats such as lift cars or getting up after being shot.

Shizuo does not possess such limiters.

Despite being a rather average (albeit tall) guy, Shizuo can knock someone out with a flick of his finger. He can also get up after getting shot or stabbed and walk, "'cause he can", in his own words.

In Radi, Shizuo's abilities will be greatly reduced! Much to his pleasure. He will be able to take more of a beating than most people, but will not be able to lift enormously heavy objects without causing himself great physical pain. His great strength will be turned into a great weakness. The only way he will be able to lift these objects would be during one of his tantrums, his strength will be a little above the human average otherwise.

Character Name: lizzie middleford
Canon: kuroshitsuji
Age: 14
Gender: female

Canon Point: chapter 79
History: Here. This history only takes you up to chapter 66, but she only makes minor appearances after that, mainly to watch the match of cricket currently going on at the academy that her brother and (for the moment) Ciel are attending.
Personality:

There are two very important things to keep in mind when talking about Elizabeth Middleford.

One: The expectations of a noble lady in Victorian England.
Two: That her family has produced knights for the Crown for generations, with the current leader of the British Knights being her father (who is only outmatched by her mother).

Lizzie was raised with the expectations of both worlds: to be pretty and naive and always sweet, surrounded by lovely things; and also to practice training with a sword regularly. Here is another important thing about Lizzie: she didn't just learn how to fight with a sword. She excelled at fencing and swordplay, and when she'd learned enough to practice against her older brother, who'd already been training for months, she defeated him effortlessly. She's been called a genius with a sword, and not without good reason, capable by the age of 14 of wielding two at once with confidence and precision.

❝I wanted you to think of me as cute...until the very end.❞

But that, until very recently, is not something she took any pride in. After all, a lady should not be stronger than her lord, nor more knowledgeable. A lady should concern herself with poetry and embroidery and looking beautiful, being dainty, and wearing gorgeous clothes. These are the societal expectations Lizzie grew up with, and furthermore, she likes cute things. She gets along very well with the tailor Nina Hopkins, and the idea of getting new dresses, going to fancy balls, and eating pretty desserts genuinely delights her. She regularly goes out of her way to drag Ciel into dances and outings and has been known to take over his mansion and servants, covering them with bows and frills in the name of making them especially cute.

Though there's more to that than meets the eye, too. While Lizzie could easily pass for frivolous, overbearingly insisting Ciel take time away from his plans and duties to please her whims, the fact remains that she is anything but. She grew up with Ciel and cares about him a great deal, looking forward with pleasure for the day she will get to marry him and take up the place of being Lady Phantomhive. She and he used to play together often, and she was quite familiar with his family.

Familiar enough to know the place that the Phantomhives really hold with the Queen of England, how Ciel is now known as Queen's Watchdog - taking orders directly from her that involve the darker dealings going on in England, stamping them out when the Queen deems necessary. The Phantomhives are not an unrespectable family, holding a high enough status in society, but their work runs a long way from what a respectable noble family would ordinarily concern themselves with.

This knowledge doesn't seem to bother her, outside of her concern for Ciel. She's perceptive enough to realize that something awful might've happened to him when he was missing for a month after his family's deaths, and this is where we return to the way she regularly bursts in on his life with some new demand or other. She admits to Sebastian that she tries very hard to cheer Ciel up, after everything that happened and with everything he has to deal with. She doesn't pry into his work or what he doesn't want to tell her, though it saddens her that there's so much he doesn't seem to feel like he can, so instead she tries very hard to help him have fun. Dances, vacations, romantic boat rides - it's all in the hope of getting him to smile, leave aside the darker matters for at least a little while, maybe return a little bit to the cheerful child she once knew.

While she'd once wanted to be a proper lady he could watch over, she now more than ever wants to protect him. She lost him once already, after all - and while it would seem like such a happy little girl has never known sadness, she does know loss. The losses in his family affect her as well, and she's far from forgotten the month he was missing (presumed dead), when she, in her own words, was "wearing my pitch black clothes with my pitch black feelings, one month of pitch black winter passed before Ciel returned." It's also implied she felt some resentment at how the rest of society felt the loss of the Phantomhives only until the next interesting thing to gossip about came along. But until recently her protection had taken the form of bright smiles no matter the situation, being perceptive enough to read his moods but never admitting to it around him, going out of her way to bring him cakes in his favorite flavors, and visiting him on his birthday. Until the events on board the Campania, where she was forced to take up sword to protect herself and him from the Bizarre Dolls.

❝Low-heeled shoes, mother's teachings, a sword to protect you...those are the 'nice things' my current self is made of.❞

Part of her rejection of her abilities had come from a comment Ciel had made once when they were young, calling her mother scary and saying he was glad that Lizzie, who wasn't tough like her, was the one going to be his wife. Terrified that he'd reject her completely if he knew, she kept it all from him until the last possible moment, when if she didn't fight they likely both might have died. She comes to be able to accept this duality in herself - at least, much better than she has thus far - when she is able to protect him like she's wanted, and also when Ciel accepts her, fighting and all. That's not to say, however, that she gives up her insistence on cuteness. She organizes an Easter celebration at Ciel's mansion, painting a special egg herself for an Easter egg hunt (and hiding it, it's worth noting, in a tall chandelier that she reached by pure acrobatics).

She is also still a little girl, known to be overbearing and talking right over people to make plans whether they like it or not - and whether those plans are reasonable or not. Never mind that a wing of Ciel's mansion has been destroyed, what they really need to do is call a tailor right now so he can have appropriate clothes for going on a boat ride today (though she doesn't push the point when he falls asleep at the end of the day). She's been known to throw tantrums when things don't go her way, such as when she destroys the Phantomhive family ring in one of the first chapters, and she gets upset when people don't go along with her plans because she worked so hard to plan them just for you! It's all very well-meaning, but she still doesn't quite have a sense of taking into consideration what other people want. She'll wibble and tear up when Ciel doesn't immediately agree to do things with her, and she's often scolded for being overly familiar with him - literally flinging herself at him many of the times she sees him. She just has a lot of feelings!!

Powers: Lizzie is a completely ordinary human being! However she's been trained in swordplay since she was young and is considered a genius with the weapon. She can excel at using one or two at once and was able to take on a roomful of Bizarre Dolls (while wearing the remains of her fancy gown and low-heeled but still formalwear shoes).

Gender: Male

Canon Point: Kapitel 80.
History: Teito Klein and his Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Life.
Personality: At his current canon point, Teito is a fairly stable individual. Despite the trauma of his past as a battle slave, he manages to be functional. He has a short temper and he'll attack recklessly, if properly goaded into a fight, but he also displays a large capacity to be caring. While he certainly attempts to keep people at a distance, the influence of his best friend Mikage has left a large mark on him, and as such, he's considerably more willing to get to know people and allow them to befriend him.

Teito does not currently remember his past; he remembers being a battle slave, bits and pieces of being raised by Kreuz as a church orphan, and his time at the military school and as Mikage's friend. He doesn't remember Frau, the Bishops, or being Pandora's Box, or anything of the sort, which means that he's a dedicated, hardworking individual who has a large amount of faith in the military.

Teito is intelligent and skilled at most things that he does, but he's still a 15 year old and is prone to making rash decisions and bad choices as well as not thinking things through all the way. Despite this, he's very selfless, and even though he does have a high survival instinct, he's far more willing to sacrifice himself than someone else. He feels guilt very acutely.

If his memories come unsealed the rest of the way, there are no major changes to his personality -- he becomes, if anything, more emotional and even more willing to let people in, and starts to carry the burdens of many more people on him. He becomes less vicious -- where once he would want to kill someone, he learns the power of forgiveness, instead. His goals shift, as well, to wanting to see the Chief of Heaven to wish for Mikage to be returned more than anything else. He doesn't undergo any terribly drastic changes, however.
Powers: Teito has the power of zaiphon, which is your basic fantasy mana usage. It's based on hand movements and language, and he can utilize it to attack. Obviously, it'll be extremely tuned down and likely manage to, uh, make some dust float, maybe. For the sake of my sanity, I'm going to nerf the collar he wears (it just plain won't work/explode/beep angrily/etc), and say that he doesn't have the Eye of Mikael with him. He can have a dumb broken replica that he can throw at people as a weapon, maybe. Like a large marble!

Character Name: Shiki Misaki
Canon: The World Ends With You
Age: 15
Gender: Female

Canon Point: Week 3
History:Bells of society in the shells of their unity.❞
Personality:
Shiki Misaki has some difficulties finding her place in the world, though she'd never want anyone to know that.

At first glance, she seems to have it all together. She's chipper and optimistic and smart enough to grab the first partner-less person in the Game that she sees. Sure, that might be a little reckless, making a pact with a person she doesn't know, but knowing the rules for the Game is the first step to survival. Shiki has to be strong enough to open herself up to someone else and understand them in order to fight the Noise that is ripping Shibuya apart at the seams. Of the two of them, Shiki seems to be the smarter one—she knows the rules, knows why they're there, but on the flip side of all of this, she's naïve even to think that Neku does as well. As such, she never explicitly tells Neku why no one around them seems to notice the creatures, nor interact with them when they do weird things. It turns out that Shiki's not necessarily book smart, she just takes the time to learn what she needs to know, as later on in the Game she has a tougher time than Neku fitting together a couple obvious clues to come to a rather obvious conclusion. Despite this, Shiki never gives up trying to help her partner.

If there's one thing that can be said about Shiki it's that she doesn't give up. She's tenacious to a fault, not only with fighting the Noise but also when it comes to getting Neku to talk. At a point, if she and Neku run away from Noise one too many times, she mocks him by calling him a chicken and “bawk”ing at him. Even though this comes off as obnoxious and mean-spirited, Shiki has the best intention in mind, to spur her partner into being more serious about fighting Noise and learning to use his pins better. In this way, she tries to be supportive, though it's rather clumsy and heavy-handed. But really, how do they expect to be able to face more dangerous Noise at this rate?

If it wasn't obvious, Shiki is kind of a nag... about a lot of things, not just about running away. She constantly harps on Neku about opening up to her, saying that she needs to understand him in order for them to synch up and do more damage. Everything about the Game hinges on being able to work together with other people, and while Shiki has the bubbly, happy-to-chat part down, she doesn't exactly take the time to let people open up of their own accord (then again, the fact that the Game lasts only a week is cause for her desperation, showing that when pushed too far, Shiki can get a little spastic). In fact, she's so desperate to get along with Neku that even after he tries to kill her on a Reaper's orders, she quickly forgives him when all is said and done, brushing off his apologies with a quick “Hey, it's okay, she manipulated you into doing it, I'm over it!”

Perhaps it's no surprise that her name is Shiki, a word phonetically similar to chic, as Shiki is all about fashion. One of her biggest dreams is to be a fashion designer, and as such there is no trend she's not on the cusp of. She reads magazines, online blogs, immerses herself in the culture of Shibuya and soaks up all the fashionable information she can. The downside to this is that Shiki tends to hold it against other people when they don't pay attention to trends—there's nothing wrong with being trendy and fabulous, but there's a problem with someone when they don't respect the rules of clothes. Because of her desire—and talent!—for clothing and making clothes in particular, this part should be of little surprise, as it's almost like a personal insult when people don't pay attention to awesome clothing. How dare they!

That was one of the few hints littered around in dialogue and actions that suggest that Shiki is not all that she appears to be. Her “support” often falls flat, and as Neku points out at more than one occasion, sounds disingenuous. Just because she tries her best when fighting and trending and surviving in Shibuya (even making friends with other Players) doesn't mean she won't hold Neku to a higher standard than she holds herself. He's the better Player, a genius with Psychs—gosh, she totally lucked out in finding him! Her facade cracks all too often; though she soon gets used to it and accepts it as part of Neku's personality, she lashed out at him when he called Mr. Mew a pig, because it suggested that her personal effort into creating the stuffed animal was all for nothing. When things look bleak, she looks toward a photo on her phone in order to assure herself that things will work out for the better. But really, her self-confident style and way of conducting herself is totally real, can't you tell by the way she is intensely protective of the things she holds dear?

This facade cracks further on Day Five of the first week when a Reaper by the name of Yodai Higashizawa mocks her for the jealousy she holds in her heart. He tears down this facade with a few choice words, calling her belief in dreams, friendship, and loyalty a total lie. He points out that she has nothing but self-loathing, contempt for herself. Having life restored to her would suit her ill because there's no way she'd ever be happy with herself! Ha, ha, ha!

Oh yeah, they've been dead the whole time, a thing Neku didn't know about. How's that for trusting your partner, Shiki?

By the time the Sixth Days rolls around, Shiki can't and won't focus on anything. This shows that the girl, when injured emotionally, would rather do what amounts to throwing a tantrum and become withdrawn and sulk the entire time. The truth is that Shiki is a jealous girl—jealous of her best friend Eri for being a wonderful designer while Shiki is the lowly seamstress, left to do nothing but construct the designs that her friend makes. Shiki is a mess of insecurities, and she thinks that anyone with a friend like Eri would be. She was everything Shiki wanted to be: she was easygoing, easy to get along with, smart, talented, and everyone loved her. Shiki was left in the shadows, a small, almost mousy girl who was overlooked and taken for granted. Because of this, she was scared of getting a second chance to live because the Reaper was right—no matter how much she tried to stomp that jealousy out, it was always going to remain there and fester until she was nothing more than an empty shell.

One's entry fee to the Game is the thing they value most, and Shiki's entry fee was her physical appearance. It confused and worried her at first, and she explains that she took the opportunity to act like her best friend and be everything she was. But the thing is, the thing Shiki values most is herself. She never wanted to be her friend, and let's face it, she was never very good at it, either. But Neku explains to her that jealousy can be a good thing as it gives Shiki something to shoot for, something to better herself toward. He assures her that she can reach her goals if she works hard enough for it. These words act as half the salve for Shiki's wounded spirit; the rest comes when she and Neku see Eri in the RG (RealGround, as opposed to the UG, the UnderGround). Initially, Shiki runs away so that she doesn't have to hear her best friend talk about her, showing that she is so terrified of criticism that she'd rather ignore it and pretend it doesn't exist. In that way, Shiki is rather self-centered, believing that people have nothing but bad things to say about her, and she consistently focuses on the bad parts of her personality. However, when she gains the courage to overhear her friend's conversation with a mutual acquaintance, Shiki realizes that Eri appreciated her more than she ever got the chance to say, and she regretted telling Shiki that she had no talent for design because she knew she hurt her friend terribly. This scathing criticism was in no way... scathing at all. Shiki only heard what she wanted to hear. Having trouble figuring out a design is an understandable frustration, and Eri had tried to explain that maybe she wasn't meant to be a designer but a seamstress instead, because Shiki was able to “breathe life” into so many of her designs. Finding this out caused a majority of Shiki's bitter jealousy to heal up and instead, she now uses it as a motivation to better herself and her talents.

It's easy to assume that Shiki's true personality isn't really seen, despite the insecurities she clings to and the facade she puts on. But in hearing her talk about her relationship with Eri as well as hearing the other side from said friend paints a picture of what she is like when Shiki isn't trying to be Eri. Before the Game, Shiki was rather shy and withdrawn—at the end of the game, when we see Shiki's true form, she fits this description. She seems to be more of a slightly nerdy girl, the kind people do overlook. But Eri insisted she was always supportive of her, friendly, cheerful, always coming up with new ideas, and one of the best friends she could have. Even if Shiki was internally focused on her negative aspects, there's something to be said for a girl who could have one of the most popular people around as her best friend and singing her praises. Even during Week Three, when Shiki reappears in the Shibuya Riverbank, not much has changed about her. She's still a little spastic, but her optimism and cheerful disposition seems less forced. She's more relaxed about herself, and in this manner, we get to see a Shiki that is closer to the truth than she was before.

In essence, she and Eri aren't that different—they're both nice girls, talented and supportive to boot. All those negative traits (the nagging, the mildly desperate need to be liked, etc) are all Shiki, but she is slowly coming to grips with the fact that while she will never be Eri nor as well-liked, that's okay. All she needs to do is let her naturally cheerful disposition shine through and she'll be just fine.

Powers:
When fighting the Noise in the Reaper's Game, Shiki is accompanied by her stuffed cat, Mr. Mew. But he is no ordinary stuffed cat: he has the ability, when the correct amount of fusion stars are used that is, to grow to the size of buildings and destroy an entire city if he wanted to. Using the pin Groove Pawn Shiki can control Mr. Mew, however passively (she even states that he sort of "does his own thing") via a type of telekinesis. Unfortunately for Shiki, Mr. Mew won't be able to grow to Godzilla size here, and just do his thing with scratching and slashing at the enemies around them.

Current Characters: madoka kaname, shuri oak, shizuo heiwajima, dirk strider,

Character Name: Cloud Strife
Canon: Final Fantasy VII
Age: 21
Gender: Male

Canon Point: After Wall-Market
History: Bam.
Personality: The man we are presented to at the start of this game is self-centred, selfish, aloof, and also fairly greedy man. He has no interest in helping the Planet, Shinra, or really doing anything other than lining his wallet with some nice gil with some easy jobs.

"I don't care what your names are. Once this job's over... I'm outta here."

Cloud spends the majority of his time with Avalanche treating them very, very poorly. He tries to remain cold and distant, but some game dialogue shows that his fellow Eco-terrorists have seen through his cool-guy facade and have started to assume that he really just has no idea how to be a friend. Which isn't too far off from the truth.

Underneath it all, Cloud's a bit of a softie. While he does indeed keep his distance and does a poor job of relating to people, he also does seem to want to connect with the ones around him and can be ordered to do this, that, or the other thing. Biggs is quick to call him out on this. Though sarcastic and more walled off than a Sim house with no doorway, he does open up and trust the people around him given enough time and placed in the correct situations. As he starts to drop or pick up other aspects of his personality or memories, he gradually becomes warmer (or colder, depending on the situation) or weaker or stronger mentally.

He's got a sense of humor and is known to crack jokes around people he trusts. He can be cajoled into strange adventures, side-tracked by sidequests, and snowboards like a doofus. If it means getting the job done, the job will be done – he really is an “anything” sort of mercenary.

But, returning to the original matter at hand, to say that Cloud Strife has a chip on his shoulder would be like saying a mountain is "kind of a hill". From the get-go it's clear that Cloud has two interests - money and himself. The arrogant young man is often seen demanding to know when he's going to get paid and acting incredibly put upon when faced with additional responsibilities or requests from other people. Selfish and self-centred, he cares nothing of the Planet and claims to want nothing to do with the people around him.

Cloud is always "acting cool" and distant from other people, in other words, coming across as very short and to the point. A jerk. As if some how better than them. However, there's a lot more to this story.

"Even with all of that commotion,
you went on like nothing happened.
You must really been through the mill to get that."

It's no spoiler nowadays that the persona that Cloud has is nothing more than a delusion. All of his exploits, all of his triumphs, his status in Shinra - nothing of it is real. In reality, Cloud had been a shy young man who had been rejected from the SOLDIER program. He was nothing special. He had no friends growing up, with the other kids either remarking that he was never "really one of them" or teasing him mercilessly. He was a lonely boy who found solace in believing himself above everyone else and, of course, saw salvation in becoming a hero.

"If I could get stronger... Then even Tifa would have to notice me..."

But more than that he wanted people to pay attention to him. Much like THE reindeer with an unfortunately glowing nose, Cloud grew lonely with everyone giving him the cold shoulder. If he could grow stronger, Cloud thought that perhaps they might invite him into their games and realize his worth. The entire town blamed him for things that weren't his fault and treated him poorly. He left home with not much more than a dream of becoming a hero, telling everyone and anyone who would listen what he would become and what pride he would bring to the town.

This all came crashing down when Cloud was rejected from the SOLDIER program. Being as mentally fragile as he was, with his low self esteem, low self worth, hair trigger temper and general failure to motivate himself, he wouldn't have made it through the SOLDIER program with any degree of sanity. Along with that, he wasn't compatible with the mako treatments, all in all making him an impossible candidate. Instead he was placed in the infantry. Though he was still proud to put the uniform on, Cloud was understandably devastated.

Crisis Core shows us that once this happened, he learned to deal with some of that anger, but remained ever withdrawn and shy. As a result he didn't have many friends and had considerable difficulty when it came to expanding his tiny social circle. Upon meeting Zack Fair it seems as though he came out of his shell a little and felt encouraged by the older boy's confidence and bright demeanour.

Zack, unlike Cloud, was indeed a SOLDIER and a hero. He was brave, determined, kind, cocky, likable, and warm. He was everything someone like Cloud wanted to be and he made it seem so effortless. Cloud idolized him much the same way he idolized Sephiroth and was quick to try to please and befriend him whenever the opportunity came up.

Still, when time came to return to Nibelheim, he was still far too ashamed to show his face. Spending most of the time feeling useless and reminded of his failure to achieve SOLDIER status, Cloud spend most of his time avoiding the people he knew. The one person he showed his face to was his mother, who simply seemed to express her disappointment that he hadn't settled down with a nice country girl. And, of course, Zack, whom he invited over for dinner.

Then. Well, that's history. A town in flame, a horrified SOLDIER-wannabe running around trying to find survivors. A climatic battle fought in the reactor that started it all. Cloud, somehow, overcoming all odds and killing the mighty Sephiroth with a sword embedded in his chest with nothing but his own grief and anger fueling him.

Could you imagine, after five years of solid torture and experimentation, trying to pull yourself together enough to find something worth living in that life? Cloud didn't. His mind was fractured. His identity nullified. What Cloud became was nothing more than an empty shell, with no trace of his former self left to be found. Mako poisoning is, essentially, the result of millions and millions of souls touching a person and losing ones sense of self in the confusion that comes with that. It leaves the afflicted person in a catatonic state, either muttering nonsense or completely robbed of their ability to speak. All in all, it leaves a person lost in their own mind. Cloud was not expected to recover.

It was Zack Fair who gathered up the pieces. Thanks to his refusal to give up and constant speaking and acknowledging Cloud as there, and the JENOVA cells inside of Cloud, the two eventually worked together to bring him out of his befuddled state. But not soon enough to help his friend. It's only after Zack has been fatally wounded that he really starts to wake up, and then he's left completely on his own with no idea what he's meant to do or where he was going. Had the Cloud who had gone into Nibelhiem that day awoken and realized everything, he most likely would not have had the strength or know-how to survive the trip to Midgar alone. After all, he'd lost everything - he'd never achieved what he'd wanted to, and had spent the past several years as a labrat to be tortured and experimented on as Hojo pleased.

Still, though he was beginning to awaken, it takes Cloud an additional two weeks of wandering around aimlessly and the reunion with Tifa Lockhart to awaken his new persona.

Upon seeing her, he goes through a radical change. Thanks to the experiments and the JENOVA cells which are designed to copy, Cloud unknowingly makes a new persona for himself and a new set of memories to replace the ones he can't (or simply doesn't want to) remember. Rather than a boy who was rejected from the program, he was accepted and rapidly rose through the ranks to become a 1st Class SOLDIER. All that Zack did, he believed he did. Along with Zack's memories, he took things that he thought to be true and added them into his personality. He believed a SOLDIER would be cool and aloof, as Sephiroth was, so he became cool and aloof. Using Zack's stories, Tifa's memories, and his own misconceptions about things, he was able to place a buffer between himself and all the terrible things that had happened and become a stronger person.

By “stronger” we of course mean “absolutely insane” and kind of a jerk.

Cloud has the body of a SOLDIER. This means that he can do a lot of crazy things with his strength that normal people shouldn't be able to, including wielding a sword nearly as tall as he is and jumping around like a cricket on steroids. It's pretty damn cool.

If Cloud sets his mind to do something, it will be done. No matter what consequences might crop up. Even when faced with the most dire of circumstances he doesn't back down, instead rising to the challenge and fighting his way through. He may not always like it, and he may act put upon, but he's a reliable warrior and earning his trust is a surefire means of gaining an excellent warrior and a trusted friend.

"Gotta admit he was a strange
dude. Just when you thought he was smart, he'd show how stupid he was. Everything about him from his movements is his speech were kinda odd."

Cloud is not confident. He is not brave. He isn't a great hero. The torture and experiments he went through in Nibelhiem shattered his already fragile mind. Given the proper time, it's possible he could have recovered and regained a proper sense of self... but that's not how things went. Cloud was left on his own and had the choice either to die, or to become a stronger person to keep himself alive. It sounds like a good thing, right?

But that's where we start hitting problems.

Though he thinks he is, in the end he's simply mimicking a great man. All of the things that he believes he's accomplished are actually the achievements of someone else. Though Cloud tries to walk the walk and talk the talk, he's only going on what he's heard and so everything falls flat and looks a little strange. Everything from the way he moves to the way he speaks belongs to another person - not all exactly the same person, but rather a mismatch of people Cloud admired and his misconceptions about how a SOLDIER 1st Class would act. So, Cloud has big, gaping holes in his memories. And along with that, he knows things he shouldn't know and doesn't know things he should. All in all, he's a very strange person to watch and talk to.

Powers: What are your character's abilities? How will these abilities be tuned down to suit the game? Cloud has what all SOLDIERS have - superior strength, superior reflexes, and an incredible reaction time. Though he will still possess above-average strength, he will not be able to swing the buster sword with as much ease as he has before. The materia equipped to his weaponry will also be rendered inert, leaving him without any magical capacity whatsoever.

Character Name: Siren / Ellen Kurokawa
Canon: Suite Precure♪
Age: That's a good fucking question. She's actually not a real human, she's a cat-fairy-mascot thing stuck in human form, so. Ambiguous? She looks 14.
Gender: Female.

Canon Point: Post-canon;
History: Wikilink.
Personality:
Siren was a kind, helpful cat, hailing from the beautiful country in the sky, Major Land. Her best friend, Hummy, was younger than her, and they trained in the art of singing for the chance to become Major Land's songstress so they might one day sing the Melody of Happiness. She coached Hummy, worked with her as they both strove to be great singers. Siren, having a beautiful, natural voice, was chosen to sing the Melody of Happiness year after year, but even so, she insisted that Hummy keep on practicing and always cheered her best friend on. She was absolutely sure that Hummy's talent would shine through. Gentle and protective, as Hummy's tricked and given a fake score right before tryouts, she gives Hummy her score so she can sing the right notes to be judged on whether she would be Major Land's songstress.

This is not the Siren we see at first glance, however.

Hah! Hummy, you're just as dense as ever!
I'm about to sing the Melody of Sorrow. The world will fall into sadness--are you alright with that?

No, the Siren we see at first glance is wicked and mean. She calls Hummy airheaded; upon Hummy being named Major Land's new songstress, she allegedly switches sides out of jealousy and allies with Minor Land's King, Mephisto. She willingly sings a rewritten version of the Melody of Happiness, it turning into a Melody of Sorrow, stating to Hummy that she's the real songstress, and that her voice will plunge the world into sorrow.

When Hummy was named songstress for Major Land, it's revealed, Siren was jealous--but not to the point of willingly allying with those of Minor Land. In her envy, Siren was taken advantage of, like most of Minor Land's residents--and brainwashed into being the King's new songstress. After all, the King could rewrite the score all he wanted, but without a songstress to sing it to life, the score would not be permanent. Taken advantage of in a moment of dire weakness, Siren easily broke to the potent brainwashing, becoming wildly unlike herself. As Hummy meets with her, the brainwashing starts to lessen--to the point of Siren refusing to ally with Mephisto any longer. Boldly, she claims to not believe him anymore--that she truly believes with all her heart in Hummy's words, that her best friend would never lead her astray. This causes another round of potent brainwashing, leaving her crueler than before for a time.

It's for your own good. Don't worry, you can do it by yourself.

Siren loves music. As one of Major Land's songstresses, she is studious and puts all of her passion into her singing. Hummy remarks that she threw herself into her music, studying everything from rhythm to tempo, and had been chosen year after year at the grand festival to sing the Melody of Happiness. She does not just help Hummy with her trouble spots--Hummy goes as far as to call Siren her teacher, claiming she won't be able to learn the score for the tryout if she doesn't have Siren by her side. As a human and a Precure, she has not lost this. In her human form, she is seen constantly playing an acoustic guitar and singing for a crowd. (How exactly she knows how to play the guitar is left unsaid; as a resident of Major Land, it is possible that she knows how to play many instruments despite taking on a cat form, as she also seems to know the piano.)

Although she was jealous, Siren has proven to be loyal. She did not leave Major Land of her own accord--being brainwashed into doing so, she had no choice, and her will is strong enough to grind down at her brainwashing to the point where she's able to break free, and believe in her friends again. When Hummy is in trouble and is about to be used to evil ends, she reaches her culminating point--she breaks free of her constraints and permanently becomes a human. Not just a human, but a Precure. Her desire to be loyal and protect Hummy as she always has produced her Precure form, despite all odds. She is altruistic, preferring to cut ties and rocket her friends to the top, even if she does become jealous afterward. If she's cut ties and she's become rivals with Hummy, after all, when she becomes jealous, Hummy won't have to see her stoop so low.

Despite her kindness, Siren is socially awkward, especially as a human. As a cat, she is embedded into the culture and is confident; she is blunt and demands answer, generally running the show. When she is trapped as a human, however, especially after she is conscious of all the damage she's done, Siren walks on eggshells. She feels horrible for what she's done--she can't face everyone, and she doesn't think she even deserves to be a Precure. She remembers the faces she's hurt, and runs away from them, unable to face the massive guilt that accumulates. Upon first hanging out with Kanade and Hibiki (the two starring Precures), she doesn't voice any opinions; she awkwardly decides to just go with whatever they say, and do whatever they do, because she's so lost on how to be friends. Both Kanade and Hibiki wonder, idly, if she's being too considerate to them, as Siren wonders if they truly even would want her around or if they'd even like for her to call them by name, after all the pain she's caused them.

Siren has trouble communicating, and is a quiet individual unless she has reason to be excited. She likes learning and applying such knowledge--when she goes on a camping trip, she confesses that she read all about it and tried ther best to adhere to "camping lifestyle" overnight. She expresses a want to attend school when summer vacation is over, and once she's enrolled, Siren is shown to be a great, studious student. Introspective, as Kanade and Hibiki are outgoing and explosive with their desire to attain their dreams, Siren simply listens and helps them, while keeping her struggle with realizing her own dream a secret. While she can bring such a thing up, it's rare; there are some things that Siren simply feels she must keep to herself. Like her friendship with Hummy, Siren tends to give a supportive role, and tends to be shyer and more naive than the other two. This is, most of the time, due to her not being an actual human--giving her introduction spiel when she joins school turns disastrous (even if the other students find it charming) when she writes her name hugely all over the board and gives simple statements to explain herself ("I like cats. I also like to sing.")

Despite this, she is a strong fighter, always coming to the aid of others. All Precures are said to want to protect something--Hibiki and Kanade want to protect everyone's happiness, and Ako wants to protect Major Land. Siren is shown as wanting to protect Hummy--protect her friends, something that manifests in her power as well, as one of her most frequent attacks is actually a defensive attack that makes a noise-blue barrier appear. Her need to protect her friends is strong enough to show through her power. In the end, like Hibiki and Kanade, she finds her dream. While her friends seek to inspire happiness, Siren seeks to protect both of their dreams. In a way, her dream is for her friends to achieve their dreams, speaking lengths about her character.

Powers:
Let's play! Precure Modulation!

Siren is only able to change into her Precure form, and has three attacks; Beat Sonic (conjuring a field of musical notes that turn into energy arrows, piercing and causing damage to a target), Beat Barrier (conjuring a magical, spherical barrier around herself and any party) and Heartful Beat Lock (an energy ring that explodes when she says the final word). She is super-strong in her Precure form and capable of flying, jumping long distances, and general acrobatic feats.

She will only be able to enter her Precure form at first, but do almost nothing inside of it. Without any of her powers at her disposal, it's basically just a slight speed/power/agility boost.

“I know it’s somewhere out there – the strength that I need.”
“Strength for what?”
“To protect the things that matter. You know, like my friends.”

To put it simply, Riku is pretty much the opposite of Sora: where Sora is cheerful and optimistic, Riku leans more towards blunt and realistic. That being said, Riku isn't really as stand-offish as people make him out to be - he just has a more practical way of interpreting things. Though Riku does have his reasons for being more aloof and quieter than he used to be back when he was 15, where he was a lot more cocky and a lot more competitive. Despite that, ever since they were kids Sora and Riku had one thing in common: loyalty and the desire to protect the people and things they care about. But it was Riku's competitive streak that made him lose sight of it, becoming an easy target for Maleficent to manipulate. She played up his jealousy and turned it into rage, making him the prime candidate for Ansem's vessel.

"That was my... my dark side. I gave in to the darkness once. And ever since, it’s chased me around in one form or another. The Seeker of Darkness who stole my body... a puppet replica of the shadows in my heart... and now, I’m facing me."

After the events in the first game, Riku had multiple realizations. Coming to terms with the fact that he had let his heart become weak by giving in to the darkness was the biggest one, which became the catalyst for the turning point in his personality. From this realization, he came to the conclusion that if he couldn't get rid of the darkness in his heart, he would to use it without turning from the light like before. He matured immensely from these realizations and after leaving the past behind him when he left Castle Oblivion, he also left behind a lot of his former traits. They were substituted for a solemn demeanor that almost seemed jaded and much too old for a sixteen (soon to be seventeen) year old boy. But Riku had seen and learned way more than any boy his age could, had experienced dangers and life-altering situations that probably no one his age could understand, and in the end, it makes sense. It's because of what he's experienced that make him who he is and he realizes that it's not just about himself or independence anymore - it's about protecting what is precious and what's important; something that he had valued very much before he lost his way.

"'Cause I'm not a total sap like you."

However, later in the game, we still see glimpses of Riku's "younger" personality through his sense of humor. While warning the Emperor in the Land of Dragons about the Nobodies and Heartless, he reassures them saying that three "wise guys" (Sora, Donald, and Goofy) will be there soon to defend the palace. He still teases Sora, though not as frequently, calling him a sap and telling him to get a hold of himself, and even cracks a joke about Donald and Goofy's level of intelligence. The competitive edge isn't there anymore, and there's a difference between the way Riku used to tease him then compared to now.

“Walking that path changed me. I’m not sure if I’m ready to wield a keyblade. Maybe I do need to be tested.”

Though Riku has grown up a lot, he still expresses much remorse and guilt for the things he'd done in the past. He admits to Sora that he didn't want to be found when Sora went to search for him, saying that he didn't want anyone to see him in his state. He almost refuses to go back home with Sora and Kairi, not knowing how to face everyone after everything that had happened. Yet this really proves how much Riku has matured since the beginning of Kingdom Hearts and despite the fact that he focuses much on repentance, it's amazing to see (and experience indirectly) the things that has happened to him and knowing that he survived it all. Riku changes the most out of everyone in the game, and lot of his personality is made up of multiple layers.

"Kn-Knight? You've got the wrong idea."

In the end, Riku is honestly... an honestly good guy. He goes out of his way to help others and truly cares deeply for his friends. He won't ever betray you unless it's honestly for your own good and though you might get really pissed off at him then, when you finally figure it out, you'll probably be feeling the opposite. Depending on the situation, he can be rather painfully blunt, or really serious when giving advice and usually, it's good advice that he's gained through his experiences. Riku is still a teenager (even though he seems a lot more mature than one), however, and mostly covers up his teenage instincts/urges with silences and deep thinking. He's not so much a loner as he just doesn't want to be a burden to his friends or anyone, even though his friends are just as loyal to him as he is.

Powers:
An extensive list can be found here.

Riku, being a keyblade wielder, has the ability to wield a keyblade. With it, he can open locks of a wide variety and can also use it to cast elemental spells (i.e.: fire, blizzard, thunder, cure, etc). The fact that he has power over darkness also allows him to summon portals that he can use as a means of transportation, however, since I'm taking him from post game, he would not be able to use this anymore.

It is known that Riku is pretty strong and pretty fast. Ever since they were kids, Riku was known for his strength and agility. This is proven when Tidus tells Sora that even triple-teaming up against him with Wakka and Selphie, they were still defeated by him. Clearly, he is not only skilled with his keyblade, but in hand to hand combat as well, which is also demonstrated in 358/2 Days when he knocks down a charging Xion with one punch. Since the events of Dream Drop Distance, Riku is now a Keyblade Master, which basically means he's even more badass and puts him at Aqua's level of combat and magic abilities.

In this game, Riku's magic will unfortunately be nerfed, leaving him with just his keyblade and natural fighting abilities.

Character Name: Axel
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Age: 25(ish)
Gender: Male

Canon Point: post-death, KH2
History: ❝LIKE A BROKEN FUCKING RECORD.❞
Personality:
There's a saying in the English language that goes something along the lines of “You can't judge a book by it's cover.” Never was a saying more true than when it comes to Axel, number eight in Organization XIII. In fact, it embodies most of what Axel stands for in the three games he makes his appearance in—the fourth, and perhaps most important to those that know him in canon, is Birth by Sleep, in which the audience is treated to a viewing of Axel before he's Axel, but more on that later.

At the start, Axel seems like a pretty cool guy. There's a certain flare about him that has nothing to do with the fire he controls: he's witty, observant and sharp. He seems like the kinda guy that you could call up on the weekend and chat the night away with. He's friendly, if not a little mocking (dancing around the subject when he faces Sora, seemingly friendly even when he's challenging the keyblade master to a duel to test his strength); he's dorky, if not a little off-putting and hard to read (Axel's delivery is always oily yet punctuated with sweeping gestures and broad grins); he's the kinda guy you want on your side, even if you think he doesn't have much to offer.

Good—while that might not be Axel's driving motivation at the time, it's something he's going to use to his advantage. If he plays his cards right, already Axel has everyone charmed into thinking he's their best friend. When he was Lea, a little pushy, arrogant (claiming an important keepsake of Ven's as being nothing more than a toy), but all together a generally easy to get along with boy, this was all true. Lea was a normal fifteen year old with one odd quirk: he'd ask people to “get it memorized,” because Lea wanted to be remembered in the minds of his friends. That way, he'd live forever. Optimism, that was an important point to the boy. However, one traumatic event and ten years of soaking in one's own bitterness has a way of twisting a person, and what was once a heart-felt desire to be liked by everyone he met has become merely a shadow of what it used to be: a mask, a “book's cover,” and (almost) nothing more.

At his core—in Saix's own words, no less—Axel is a character that can't abide by what he is or what he has become. When he was little more than fifteen, Lea lost his heart and became the Nobody known as Axel. Heartless, unable to feel; this had a deep, scarring impact on Axel, and it shows in the way he deals with people he had once considered his friends, and indeed with anyone else he comes into contact with. As far as he's concerned, they're just pawns he can use until he gets his heart back by any means necessary. Axel is, in very literal terms, a “venomous friend” because he will always put himself first and function in a manner that will suit him best, including lying to everyone around him, including his best friends. If that means pretending to be a friend or brother figure to someone, as he was to Roxas in the beginning of 358/2 Days, then so be it. If that means sucking up to his superiors so that he's not turned into a Dusk, so be it. And despite it all, even though Axel knows he can't feel, he still clings to the memories of what it was like to be whole instead of “all that's left.”

In Chain of Memories, Axel is the tool of the betrayer's destruction. When Larxene and Marluxia were aiming to overthrow the Organization's leader, Xemnas, Axel slipped his way into their little fold and settled himself down nicely—it's that “friendly” side of him coming out to play there. It's easy for Axel to get someone's trust in that fashion. He knows what to say by either trial and error or paying close attention. Even though he taunts everyone around him—Sora, Vexen, and heck even Marluxia and Larxene—he still carefully walks along that cliff's edge before it's time for him to push someone over to save his own skin. He's given orders to murder Vexen and he does so without a second thought, needing to gain the trust of the other two in order to bring them down. Axel is a trump card with a (seemingly) genuine enjoyment of stabbing people in the back. This trait never leaves, even through further character development.

This development comes at the hands of another Nobody, number thirteen: Roxas. At first, Axel is set on the task of being nothing more than a babysitter, walking the blond through his first few days of being “awake.” He lies to the boy, telling Roxas that he's his friend, and over time, that lie becomes Axel's reality. As his time spent with Roxas goes, Axel finds himself getting more fond of the boy, fond enough for a sensation of jealousy to grasp him when he comes back from Castle Oblivion to find Roxas sitting and eating ice cream with Xion, the Organization's puppet. It's true, Axel can't truly feel because of what he is, but in pretending he can and going with what he remembers is right, he can escape that crushing feeling of Nothingness that is a Nobody's calling. With Roxas's—and Xion's, for that matter—training, Axel is a thorough creature, leaving no treasure chest unopened. He proclaims that one learns better by doing than hearing (which is where the infamous “Talking is dumb” line stems from), showing that Axel is very proactive when he sets his mind to something. The problem is actually getting him into gear. He's laid back in between missions, seen in casual conversation with other Nobodies.

But as mentioned earlier, Axel is selfish, and unfortunately this has a detrimental effect on his friendships. As he grows closer to Roxas, his former friendship with Saix falls apart, and Axel doesn't do much to fix it. He simply lets it end, aware of it and kind of hating it, but never doing much to change it—but should his friend find someone else to spend their time with, that jealousy is always there, never outwardly illustrated but instead hinted at with quiet words and awkward pauses.

When it comes to his friends, Axel shows an entirely different side. Sure, there's that “brotherly” persona he likes to wear, but he's also fiercely protective. Suddenly, the orders he had no problem carrying out before become a burden, it's “icky orders” he doesn't like having to stomach. It takes two times before Axel is finally set down to the idea of having to murder Roxas if he won't re-join the Organization, and it's only once he realizes his best friend doesn't remember him any more that his resolve is set.

Unless that purpose is tied in closely with Axel's heart and his own emotions, Axel will most likely let a friendship decay and rot. If there's one thing Axel will fight tooth and nail for, it's for that chance to feel. Again, Axel is a creature that can't abide by what he is, he's self-serving, and if that means lying to himself so that he can live in recreated memories with more or less “shallow” friends, so be it. With Roxas, it's different in a way that's never explicitly explained—is it the influence of Sora's heart that's changing Axel? Whatever the case, Axel's fully convinced by the time Kingdom Hearts II rolls around that Roxas is someone who needs to stay by his side, and he's willing to go to any lengths to get his best friend. Roxas is, after all, the one who made Axel “feel like I had a heart.”

While far from a complete contraction, there's a lot about Axel that seems to clash. He feels without feeling, he forms friendships he seems to genuinely cherish while others fall by the wayside. He's manipulative and sometimes cruel, but always putting himself at the forefront of everything he does. And yet, despite that, he's not a bad guy. Sure he captures Kairi to lure Sora into a trap, but once he realizes his trap will no longer work, he sacrifices himself to save the Keyblade Master and allow him to continue on his journey. The best way to put it is that Axel is a wild card: toss him into the mix and let him give you one hell of a show.

Powers:
In canon, Axel has the ability to completely control fire and its properties, able to summon and use huge fireballs and even go so far as to turn a metal floor into molten lava. He and fire are total bros, okay? You want a looming wall of fire to knock your HP down by 30%? You go to Axel, for he is your man. But his cheater powers don't stop there, even if they are the most important—he's able to teleport himself from world to world (and place to place, especially during a battle) via corridors of darkness. He can also call to his aid the lesser Nobodies "Assassins," which can phase through the floor and attack poor unsuspecting keyblade wielders.

They also explode. Just like Axel.

Last but not least are his chakrams, which he can pull from darkness and flame and solidify in his hands. They have eight spikes and are lethal.

For the purpose of the game, however, Axel's ability with flame will be watered down significantly—still enough to be dangerous to enemies, but nothing on the level of a massive wall or melting rock. I'd like if he can still keep his ability to summon his chakrams out of hammerspace, as those things are huge and awkward to simply carry around. His teleportation skill will also be knocked down to him being able to only travel approximately one New York-sized city block twice a month, and not consecutively.

Character Name: Sora
Canon: Kingdom Hearts
Age: 16
Gender: Male

Canon Point: Post-KH3D: Dream Drop Distance.
History: Wikilink.
Personality:
I know the Keyblade didn't choose me and I don't care.
I'm proud to be a small part of something bigger--the people it did choose!

To say that Sora is 'naive and innocent', although a popular opinion, is a description that isn't true. His 'innocence' is his incredible sense of optimism. He believes things will work out in the end--he just knows he'll find Kairi and Riku, and there will be a happy ending. The protagonist of Kingdom Hearts isn't so much naive as he is... well, gullible--and even then, that only applies to some people. His enemies find him hard to fool--his heart seems to see through their plans easily. He's easily excitable (he was practically jumping at finding out Captain Jack was a real pirate) and still has many childhood beliefs (Santa, for example)--like the belief of good guys and bad guys. Sora believes in good and evil. If someone's bad? They're bad--and until they say they're sorry, they're on Sora's bad side. (Not too many people can get on Sora's bad side.) Like any teenage boy, he can become rash and childish in situations, usually followed by some sort of anger. The sheer amount of tenacity he contains can be a real problem in these cases, but it's also incredibly important for when he stands his ground. His competitive streak runs wild, which usually goes hand in hand with him just never giving up (Phil doesn't think he's good enough to be a true hero? Well, he'll prove it, then!).

When faced with helping others, Sora doesn't wait--he acts. Leap before you think! He impulsively says yes, always eager to help and try to be there to see someone's happy ending play out. When encountered with traveling to new worlds, Sora usually jumps at the chance. Making new friends, exploring the unknown--what could be better? He could find a new adventure, and new friends to share it alongside with. His impulsiveness isn't always a good thing, though. Jumping into battles and calling out his enemies runs along his childish side. He is, after all, quite the epitome of a child warrior; strong and durable, but very, very willing to call bad guys out on their weirdo hairdo. ("You think you can psych me out by saying really random stuff?!")

On the same hand, he can be extremely sweet. Such an example is his tendency to sacrifice his well-being for someone he met seconds ago, or doesn't even know at all, as he does countless times throughout the games. He is loyal to his friends, almost to a fault. You could say that as much as his friends are his power, they are his greatest weakness, and that is something his enemies sometimes exploit. God forbid that happens, however, because Sora is not near the top of Beware the Nice Ones for no reason.

He forgives Riku, his best friend, easier than he does anyone else. Riku, however, was the one that opened the door to darkness, plunging their homeworld into mortal danger. His loyalty doesn't end with only Riku and Kairi--in the second game, Donald and Goofy are on the same level.

Looking back at Kingdom Hearts (the first game), Sora has increased in his maturity. When he first claimed the Keyblade, he didn't understand too much and was clumsy, awkward. Even with a year lost, his entire outlook became much more heroic, and he embraced his position. He understood and grew with each step he took. This could be because of the time that passed, and the end of the first game--Sora realizes that his journey won't end too soon, so he should put more work into being a Keyblade wielder. It shows, as he stands taller and gives stern promises to help anyone he comes across in his second journey. While he still goes through this in his third journey, we see it in a different light. Sora's need to actually save people and save the day himself hampers his growth and other characterizations; he butts in and, most of the time, solves the problems for others instead of giving them advice and letting them solve their problems themselves.

Sora, probably because Destiny Islands is perceived to be a small place, does not show too much outright respect for the authority littered throughout Kingdom Hearts. He does not bow to Yen Sid (although Donald and Goofy do) or Queen Minnie (as Donald and Goofy also do). It gives the impression that Sora either does not think clearly, or simply does not have a strong sense of authority. Sora is a person who speaks heart-to-heart, not heart-to-status or status-to-status.

His greatest weaknesses are his stubbornness and pride. In the events of Dream Drop Distance, his pride in having saved the worlds many times over causes him to immediately brush off the exam, claiming that he doesn't need it, because he should have already earned the right to be named a Master. It is only when Riku relents and submits to taking the exam that Sora goes along with it. His stubbornness reflects as he speaks to the good number of incarnations of Xehanort that keep plaguing him through the game--he's too stubborn to really face them head-on, and holds onto his ideal that he can understand them to really refuse the ideas that they conjure up, to make him doubt and wonder about his own place and competence. He's too stubborn and wants to keep going, falling deeper into his dreams to find out the answer himself when he can hear Riku calling for him.

Powers:
This is what lights the dark... a chance to make everyone happy!

Sora, as a Keyblade Wielder, has a Keyblade as his main weapon. The 'Keyblade' is a special weapon that acts like a sword, but is shaped as a key in it's default (Kingdom Key) form. It unlocks and locks almost anything imaginable--hearts, doors, worlds, etc. As a weapon, it's hard and blunt. It doesn't look like it would do much damage, though it obviously does, especially if it's clipped to another keychain. You see, the Keyblade has many different forms--all given to the blade by a specialized keychain. Sora usually receives these keychains by locking a world or visiting it for the last time. When he clips a new keychain in place of the default Kingdom Key keychain, it turns into an inspired design from that keychain. This is a common trait with all Keyblades.

On the other hand, Sora is not just a melee fighter. He has many spells in his arsenal--most that he learned himself or acquired on his journeys. He knows both offensive and healing magics (also known as black/white magic if we want to put it into Final Fantasy terms), such as Fire and Cure. He can only do these with his Keyblade present, however, as it's the main holder of his power.

Sora's style is a balanced mesh of melee and magic. For the most part, he relies on the hitting power of his Keyblade, his strength, and speed to destroy enemies.

In game, however, he will have none of his magic or magical abilities attuned to the Keyblade (such as physical commands/reaction commands, etc). His Keyblade will essentially be a normal blade (though its appearance will be changeable with Keychains, they won't have latent abilities like in canon) and he will rely on his normal strength.

Character Name: Hakuren Oak
Canon: 07-GHOST
Age: 16
Gender: Male

Canon Point: Chapter 80
History: Here!
Personality: Hakuren acts much the way he looks at first glance -- proud, arrogant, vain. Hakuren has a lot to be proud of and he knows it. He's attractive, intelligent, ambitious, and surprisingly accomplished for someone his age. This, coupled with his upbringing as a member of a very powerful noble family, means that Hakuren as a huge ego and not much self-awareness about the fact. When questioned about how he keeps his hair so nice he does explain what sort of shampoo he uses but then adds that beauty is simply something one is born with. If he's contemptuous of someone he makes no effort to hide it and will deal out insults about one's appearance, skill, worth, and social standing in equal measure.

Despite his arrogance, Hakuren isn't nearly as bad as he seems -- and certainly a much more tolerable person than the rest of his family. He's fiercely dedicated to the church and, more than that, dedicated to helping people as a bishop of the church. He constantly rejects his father's attempts to place him into more prestigious positions outside of the church, and only finally accepts one when his mentor points out that doing so will allow him a greater amount of influence in improving the lives of the poor and infirm. He's a loyal friend, once you've earned his friendship, and while he'll use them as ammunition when coming up with insults he doesn't care much about rank or status in the long run. He has a good deal of contempt for his family and it shows in the path he's decided to walk.

Still, Hakuren is someone with a lot of charisma and a great deal of skill in navigating social situations that require combining tact, timing, compliments, and insults where needed. Getting along with others isn't difficult for Hakuren, though he can be very persistent in pursuing the friends he chooses to keep. Teito is on the receiving end of this on more than one occasion, as has Mikage. However, he tends to be rather uncomfortable around women, owing to his father's constant attempts to marry Hakuren off to a variety of noble women (often times ones many years older than him). Though he can handle individual women in controlled doses, a crowd of them tends to make him nervous, and he even claims to ladysick after long enough.

Powers: Hakuren has zaiphon, a sort inscription-based magic. Though Hakuren is extremely talented with his zaiphon and can use a baculus (a sort of holy staff) to use his zaiphon to destroy demons called Kor, his talent lays more in fine control and agility than raw power. His zaiphon will be scaled down to near uselessness, making it good for little else besides stirring up dust and moving small objects short distances.

Hakuren will also have Mikage with him. Mikage is a baby dragon, no more than a few months old, and while he has the potential to grow into a very large, powerful, and intelligent creature, right now he's small enough to fit in the palm of Hakuren's hand and is far from mastering the art of human speech. Mikage's only noteworthy skill, besides flying, is the ability to cough up little puffs of fire, which will be reduced to huffing out smoke and maybe the occasional spark.

Character Name: Leah
Canon: Diablo III
Age: 21
Gender: Female

Canon Point: Post-Act II
History: here
Personality:
From birth, Leah has been known consistently as an "unlucky girl," and that has been true for pretty much her entire life. A large part of that may have to do with the story behind her conception, being the spawn of a dubious witch and a dude trying to contain the essence of one of the Lords of Hell (and failing, as it were), but let's set all that aside. As far as she knows, she's more or less an average girl with some weird tendencies to see things she shouldn't. Her birth mother left her in the care of a mentally unstable woman and she had a rough childhood, never quite fitting in and preferring to slink around in sewers and caves in the desert rather than socialize. The other kids picked on her quite a lot for it, but she managed to tolerate the name-calling fairly well, for a young girl. And it paid off, later on, when her "Uncle" Deckard Cain came to take her away on his journeys with him.

During that time she got to fulfill her love of exploring, traveling all over the world in search of artifacts and lost tomes. Sure, Cain was a bit of a fanatic, obsessed with prophecies about something that had happened years ago, long enough that to someone like her, the tales came off as just that—stories. Her skepticism remained unmatched, even as things began to go wrong around her, such as the "falling star" landing on top of her and Cain while investigating an old, infamous cathedral. It's not until Cain's death and the Stranger's reveal as a fallen angel from the High Heavens who chose to become mortal in order to save humanity that she begins to believe that everything Cain had worked for really meant something, and vows to carry on his work. She is a very studious person and basically grew up having all the information pounded into her head from a young age. It isn't easy to grasp, but she tries.

Overall, Leah is a very sweet, caring girl. All the things that have happened in her life haven't tarnished her care for others and the cause she dedicates herself to. She tells the Hero she travels with that she wants to open an inn of her own someday, once everything settles down, just to give people all around a place to rest their weary heads. She may be more the type to go wandering into the desert to check out some ruins or paw through a library for hours rather than attend a party, but she is very devoted to the people she cares about and would do anything to protect them. She is, unfortunately, the type to be taken advantage of because of this, which ultimately leads to the worst luck she's ever had in life, but, well. She remains strong until the very end.

Powers: The majority of Leah's powers are dormant or only recently opened to be marginally within her control. She's been shown to unleash powerful bursts of violent energy, and is also conditioned to precognition, prophetic dreams, and other visions. In-game, her destructive power will no longer be accessible, but she will occasionally have brief visions from time to time when she falls asleep. She's also handy with a bow, but not moreso than a normal human could be.

Character Name: Lelouch vi Britannia
Canon: Code Geass
Age: 18
Gender: Male

Canon Point: Post Season 2
History: Lelouch's wiki, Code Geass synopsis
Personality: Lelouch acts very different depending on who he's dealing with. First you have the companionable and casual personality that he presents to his peers at school. He's Vice President of the Student Council and gets along with his classmates well enough. There seem to be few people that dislike him any capacity aside from his teachers when he slacks off and skips too many classes. Though fiercely bright, Lelouch is incredibly lazy and indifferent in regards to school, again earning him this disdain of his teachers. However, peers are attracted to this personality, as is seen with his fellow student council member Shirley. Shirley is also shown his compassion on occasion, such as after her father is killed in a battle between the Black Knights and Britannia (ultimately a death that was his fault).

This is likewise how he presents himself to his sister, Nunnally, who is also privy to his gentleness and compassion. He mentions to her several times how he would never lie to her, and it is for her that he wants to make a peaceful world. Lelouch would do anything, absolutely anything, to ensure Nunnally's safety. He uses his Geass on himself in order to save her from Mao who hangs a pendulum bomb above his head, so that he can't remember what he planned with Suzaku, keeping Mao from also being able to read his mind and discover the plan. He also abandons the Black Knights in their final battle against Britannia because his sister is kidnapped. Nunnally, as mentioned before, it's one of the two important factors of why he is gunning for Britannia (the other being the murder of his mother).

And then there's the way he acts with Suzaku. It is similar to how he treats Nunnally, though with less of the gentleness. They're close friends, despite knowing that Suzaku is an enemy to his cause. He saves him on more than one occasion, the first being when he is accused of the murder of Prince Clovis. He also uses his Geass on Suzaku when he tries to sacrifice his life on an order. Despite knowing he's the enemy and finding out he's the pilot of the Knightmare that keeps besting the Black Knights, it's still obvious that he cares about Suzaku, to a point that he falters on his commands when he discovers this fact.

All of that, however, is not all there is to Lelouch's personality. There's a side his schoolmates don't see. Behind closed doors and behind Zero's mask he is cold, calculating, crude, and arrogant. He's ruthless on the battlefield, sacrificing soldiers and civilians alike, despite claiming that his army wouldn't hurt the defenseless. Multiple times he uses strategies that sacrifice civilians to get rid of large forces of the Britannian military, such as when he creates a landslide that kills military and civilians. Collateral damage, if you will. Lelouch is very, very much a hypocrite between the ideals he preaches and the way he goes about them. As the series progresses he becomes increasingly more callous and heartless with his bloodshed, as opposed to the beginning of the season when he gets physically nauseous over remembering a murder.

Lelouch is highly intelligent, and it shows in his strategies, where time and again he is able to outsmart his opponents. He is the type of person that considers every possible outcome, method, or move to ensure that his plans work. Though he's outsmarted a few times - like by Cornelia who is similar to him in that she considers everything so that the enemy won't surprise her, and by Mao who was able to read his thoughts and thus know every outcome he considers - overall his strategies are tactical and calculated. It makes him a nearly unbeatable opponent at chess, even against adults, which he uses to his advantage to gamble early on in the series.

However, over time as the series and battles progress, Lelouch's strategies start becoming more dangerous as he becomes more manic and arrogant with his power and control, and sometimes when he lets his emotions get the better of him. He starts giving orders that have a bigger chance of ending with his own people getting hurt, or even abandons his troops with no commands to go save Nunnally, leaving his second-in-command in charge and his army helpless. This leads to the almost complete obliteration and capture of the Order of the Black Knights. In the privacy of his own Knightmare you can see more and more as his mental stability begins to wane as the power goes to his head. The more victories he secures and the more he proves his power, the more he considers himself the one who is meant to destroy and create something better. He thinks it his job to make the world into a better place, not only for his sister but for everyone in the world. He's no less intelligent about how he goes about things, even if his strategies become more dangerous, time and again he continues to outsmart his enemies with things they don't see coming, even outsmarting Cornelia eventually to corner her and question her about his mother's murder.

Through speeches and actions, Lelouch is able to gather other resistance groups into his rebellion. His charisma and quick-wit lends him the ability to take any situation and use it to further his agenda and garner more support. Even if it's something as horrific as the murder of thousands of Japanese civilians by he own, albeit accidental, Geass-command. He uses the massacre his Geass unwittingly caused to establish the United States of Japan with his new support and lead his final attack on the Tokyo Settlement.

The personality he presents as Zero reflects more closely his thoughts and ideals than the personality he shows to his school friends, though this doesn't make his school personification any less real as he is also very much a true part of himself with Nunnally and his other sister Euphie and even with his friends on the Student Council, shown when he sheds tears over giving the order to kill her to stop the killing of Japanese and how he would abandon his troops to save Nunnally and when he doesn't want the Black Knights to hurt the Britannian students of Ashford High after they make it their base. His compassion for them is very real and genuine, as he had several opportunities to kill Euphie and time and again did not take those opportunities. First in the hotel hi-jacking and then again when they wake up on an island together. The differences in his personalities however, lead him to appear very two-faced, which is not at all helped by the fact that he is deceitful in his actions - such as warping Euphie's massacre into something to benefit his end goal.

All that up there? That pretty much goes to shit in season two. Suzaku betrays him and turns him over to his father, who eradicates his most precious memories (of his sister, his mom, etc). It doesn't take long for him to regain those memories though, and when he does he's understandably pissed. He takes his mantle back up as Zero, completely cut-throat and ruthless. Where he'd gotten physically ill in the first season over killing people, he shows no such remorse the second time around. He continues to be calculating and smart about his decisions, despite Suzaku trying to trip him up at every turn to reveal him as Zero. But being betrayed by your best friend takes its toll, of course, and Lelouch's downward spiral continues in a way that makes you want to turn the television off because you just can't watch anymore.

Lelouch, in a sense, completely self-destructs. Everyone he's ever cared for he's either lied to or been betrayed by, and in turn he betrays them too. His entire rebellion is turned against him, the consequences of learning that he may have geassed them. Pretty much everything good in his life dies, and it's well deserved, but it breaks what little there was left of his humanity. With the deaths of Shirley and Nunnally (so he thought), Lelouch basically loses his whole reason for a rebellion in the first place. But it doesn't deter him from going after his father, and discovering that his mother is in fact still around. And while he'd lost his reason for fighting previously, after and altercation with them and discovering the twisted world they want to create, Lelouch regains his conviction in the world he wanted for Nunnally.

From here on out, Lelouch becomes ruthless to all. There's no feigned kindness left, he becomes an even worse dictator than his father before him. Which makes him sound not so much like the protagonist of this show anymore. But with the help of Suzaku who betrays his country and helps him stage a coup d'tat, Lelouch becomes the 99th Emperor of Britannia and proceeds to demolish it from the inside out. But it's not just Britannia that he's targeting. Lelouch manages, purposefully, to piss off the entire world against him for his ends. That end is centering all hate on him, so that when Suzaku, disguised as Zero, kills him, the negativity of war will die with him. Essentially creating the world anew, not only for Nunnally, but for everyone living there. He's one of three characters in the canon to truly be broken completely from what they were before. However, that's not to say that Lelouch wouldn't still be able to put on a face if he needed to. A liar is a liar is always a liar.
Powers: Lelouch's main ability is the Geass he receives from C.C. Geass is a supernatural ability that can be granted by certain people through a contract. Each Geass manifests differently and increases in power with each use, which can lead to a person losing control of when they use their Geass if they lack the proper willpower to control it - meaning it would become permanently active. Each Geass has different limitations and restrictions, such as the length of time a Geass will remain or if the Geass can be used multiple times on people if it is one that directly affects a person. Lelouch's Geass is the power of absolute obedience, triggered by looking a person directly in the eye with his Geass activated (which is signified by the Geass sigil appearing in his left eye). With this power he can plant commands into a person's mind, such as "give me your Knightmare" or "release this prisoner". His Geass can only affect a person once, and once the command is completed the person under its influence has no memories of what happened from right before and during the influence. It also has a range restriction of roughly 270 meters, according to Lelouch.

Since Lelouch is dead from his point in canon, it's debatable that he would have his Geass at all upon arrival. I'm leaning towards him still having it, but it would definitely be nerfed like crazy so he can't just walk around putting everyone under his control at his leisure, since he's got the permanent Geass going on these days. If the mods would prefer he not show up with Geass, though, I'm cool with that also! Aside from Geass, Lelouch is pretty much the most worthless person in existence when it comes to physical prowess. He's just a smart little shit and nothing more.

Character Name: C.C.
Canon: Code Geass
Age: REALLY OLD, appears 18
Gender: Female

Canon Point: Season 2 Episode 8, during the mass exile
History: Code Geass (General) C.C. (Personal)
Personality:
C.C. describes herself once as a girl who has repeated experience, rather than having actually lived life. Being immortal and completely incapable of experiencing death or the threat of death, C.C. has grown as a woman going through the motions, waiting for the time to come where she can finally move on. She had made her contract with a nun at a very young age, giving her the power "to be loved" (and loved she was). She was lauded by the entire town, to the point where people tried to start a religion around her and thus true love began to lose its meaning. While she no longer has that power, the scars it left behind remain on C.C. present day. She comes across as flippant and callous, caring only to entertain herself with mundane tasks such as eating pizza or people watching. Her only goal in life is to end her life, which has gone on for hundreds of years past normal human life expectancy. In order to achieve this, she must contract with someone long enough for their Geass to fully mature, and then she must pass her curse onward to them. Thusfar, all prior contracts had failed to fulfill their end of the bargain for one reason or another. However, her contract with Lelouch vi Britannia gives her new purpose in life, which she discovers about half way through the second season.

C.C. can be seen as a lazy individual by outsiders thanks to her apathy. When she isn't being an accomplice to Lelouch, she sits around and does nothing without prompting (and, occasionally, won't even do things when prompted). Just as easily, she can sit up and participate in something she finds worthwhile, painting her as a mysterious woman who conveniently knows way more than she should. She can be blunt and to the point or just as easily participate in more philosophical conversation, depending on what is necessary of her at the present time. Truly, C.C.'s world generally revolves around her and her contractee at the time.

Her jaded nature often makes her appear cruel and heartless, and she has very little problem with that sort of reputation. C.C.'s Geass jaded her toward affections of all kinds, and so she sees little point in entertaining them for extended periods of time. However, that isn't to say that she is completely incapable of affection. Despite her Geass casting a spell over entire towns to give her false love, C.C. had shown motherly affection to the man she had contracted with prior to Lelouch. It largely comes across as pity and regret, but C.C. says herself that at one point she had loved him.

Having lived centuries, C.C.'s intelligence appears to be almost otherworldly and she comes off as very mysterious. She enjoys playing games with people and withholding information until she no longer finds it entertaining. That is not to say she is sadistic -- in fact, when the Black Knights begin to panic over Zero's demise, C.C. is quick to point out that Lelouch is, in fact, alive (though nobody believes her as she does not have proof). Ultimately, she is not a vicious or cruel person but simply trying to keep herself amused. Who could blame her, after living the same tired jokes over and over again?

C.C. has two true wishes in the world: to be loved and to die. While the former wish has been tarnished by time, it is still a deep desire that occasionally resurfaces when someone close to her pushes the right buttons. Ultimately, she will always say that she wishes to die, due to her complete inability to truly end her eternal life.

Powers: C.C.'s regenitive abilities greatly outclass that of a normal human, allowing her to recover from things such as bullet wounds in mere minutes. She is also immortal, able to survive nearly any kind of death experience (though it does not absolve her of pain). She has been known to reappear even after being beheaded and burned alive. She is immune to the effects of Geass, though no longer able to use her own. C.C. also has the ability to feed people mental shaock images through direct contact -- she is able to transmit between surfaces, so long as her target is also in contact with said surface. She has leadership skills, piloting skills, and firearm capability.

Immortality would obviously be wiped from the board upon arrival and her regenitive abiltiy will likely be slowed.

Jake English | Homestuck | Reserved

[personal profile] xenon 2013-07-18 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
Personality:
Jake English is a gentleman -slash- explorer -slash- massive dork -slash- all around good guy with a few ridiculous quirks. He likes movies of the two-star-action-comedy variety, skulls, guns, and women who are an unnatural shade of—can you guess?--blue. Now, if that were all there were to Jake, this would be easy, but lucky for us, Jake is no simpleton. We’ll start off with his more gentlemanly nature.

Jake considers himself a gentleman, which is really not far off! Jake is kind to girls, as he should be, so when he speaks with uranianUmbra (also: UU), Jade, or Roxy, Jake is courteous and well-mannered. When “learning” that Jane has “no romantic” interest in him, Jake’s approach (though extremely mislead) is kind and humble. He lets Jane know he’s alright with it and even apologizes for assuming that she DID like him before the “big reveal”!! He lets her know it’s alright that she’s turned him down, and assures her she’s a lovely lady by all standards. With Roxy he’s game for silliness, and maintains his good nature. As a gentleman, Jake tries not to be too boisterous or proud, and keeps his massive hoards of energy down to a chill that he might seem collected and humble. Mind, Jake wouldn’t take away all of his merits; he has some pride as a gentleman!

Now, don’t get me wrong, he’s not up there talking in some whack job high-classed British accent like he just popped out of Oxford with a degree in the English language!! Heck, Jane even corrects him on his grammar at one point. Think more like Bert from Mary Poppins: unrefined and friendly. Jake is friendly, open, somewhat bubbly about things. He uses RIDICULOUS words that fall into a ‘lesser used’ category: “Phew, this room is lousy with smoke!!” or “He’s the cat’s pajamas!” More or less, he talks like he’s someone’s grandpa (ha ha), and even admits to Dirk that yes, he does in fact talk as such. Jake likely adapted much of his lingo from his grandma, and watching movies and talking to his friends keeps his speech pattern somewhat modernized. A lot of folks would say he “talks funny”.

Jake is not all prim and proper, OH NO!!!! You’re forgetting that Jake is also an EXPLORER -slash- ADVENTURER!!! And shit son, he CANNOT be stopped. Jake loves loves l o v e s adventure, and talks about it almost constantly. Adventure is, in fact, a driving factor of his personality. One such example is when Jake is exploring around the ruins near his island. Two transportalizers sat there, and regardless of the Auto-responder’s (henceforth AR) insistence that he NOT jump on one of them, Jake screams out that he just HAS TO GET ON ONE OF THEM, WHAT IF ADVENTURE AWAITS ON THE OTHER SIDE?????? Meanwhile he probably should have been working on getting Dirk into their session; if it’s not obvious, Jake can be kind of a moron. Jake’s love for adventure can also be a good way to manipulate him, which is definitely not a good thing. AR does so in more recent updates, challenging his adventure-ly nature and telling him that a REAL explorer would definitely kiss that decapitated head. Totally gross, right? But after being challenged, Jake could NOT back down, and the results were cosmically ridiculous.

Jake’s love of adventure shows also in his love for movies and comic books. For comic books there isn’t nearly as much to say; he seems to love super hero comics for the most part, such as the Hulk and Spiderwoman. Movies, however, are something he greatly enjoys talking about, and to be very frank, his taste in movies can be hideous. Fortunately, it’s hard to find an action movie truly hideous when the action scenes are just SO DANGNAB COOL!!!! If you’ve never seen Ghost Rider with our beloved Nic Cage, you cannot grasp the truthiness of his movie love. Jake seems to “acknowledge” when a movie is mediocre, but that doesn’t stop him from loving it. He loves mediocre films BECAUSE they’re mediocre, and nobody can deny the quality of a bad action movie. He also seems to like bad comedies. Weekend at Bernie’s, anyone?

No doubt, his love of movies and comics brings about a few other strange adorations. His love of blue women is mind boggling; it’s not even that he finds Mystic from X-men attractive: it’s all blue chicks. He’s even got a picture of a Smurf on his bedroom wall; upon SEEING Arenea he developed a sudden crush!!! The kid is ridiculous, true facts. Additionally, he is a great listener, especially when it comes to stories. Both Dirk and Arenea explain long stories to Jake regarding the past, present, and future, and for both of them Jake is highly attentive, inquisitive, and interested in both of their tales. In short, Jake loves stories of all shape and form, and would gladly listen to anyone if they had a story to tell.

Jake can be something of a moron; take for example his sylladex. For whatever reason, Jake thought it was a good idea to captchalogue bullets one at a time and shove into his sylladex. Later this proves to be problematic in some respect, seeing as when he tries to shove something into his sylladex, many of the bullets fall out and make a mess around his room. He also mistakenly shoots a Tinkerbull while wandering the jungle. In another case, when Jane is epically FAILING to admit that she may have a Thing for Jake, her obviously half-hearted attempts go unrecognized by Jake. He wouldn’t notice anything was fishy in the moment. Jake is a “act first, think later” sort of person, for the most part, which is probably a good thing for a guy like him! He has smarts enough to know that, when he’s falling from the sky, Jake is quick on his feet to throw on his skullcap, which more than likely saved his life!! Jake thinks on his toes, then, so complex plans and what have you are not his thing- -that would be something more of Dirk’s tastes.

But, of course, as all Homestuck characters are, Jake has those EXTRA layers that don’t come up nearly as much. Jake isn’t Full Moron like it might otherwise seem; Jake can be in-tune to things that seem fishy, like being somewhat aware that both Dirk and Jane perhaps really do/did have a thing for him! He admits to Jane that he’s had the suspicion for some time that Dirk was making flirtatious advances, and may be subconsciously aware that his conversation with Jane about “not liking him” also had something suspicious to it. Tying back into the “act first, think later” Jake would likely not read between the lines on a matter until it has long since passed.

One could also infer that ALL of the Homestuck kids are VERY dedicated to their friends, and Jake is just the same as them all! He loves his friends a lot and really likes them. Ironically, though, Jake is probably the LEAST prepared for the adventure that he’s about to take one, despite being the one who’s so gungho about adventure. Not totally sure what I mean? In the Beta series, when John is killed, Rose flips and attacks, trying to Get Shit Done. In the alpha series, when Jane is impaled by the red miles, Jake is completely petrified, still, and mostly useless; meanwhile Dirk is Getting Shit Done. This likely has a lot to do with his role as a Page, and his potential as a hero have yet to shine through, but in the beginning, the hardships of adventure will definitely put him in many tight spots he isn’t ready for.

Jake also has a huge imagination, which quite frequently takes on a more perverted state. If he catches himself saying something with some sexual innuendo, he flips out from embarrassment. At the prospect of a romantic relationship, he tempts the idea. He’s tense on such manners, but he doesn’t break his good nature; he’ll become awkward and unsure. Jake is also easily distracted from things he ought to be doing or talking about, and without a little arm twisting, often won’t do it at all.

Powers: Jake has no real super powers, at least none that have come into light yet; if anything, he’s probably just got above average strength due to living in the jungle.

Character Name: Persephone
Canon: Greek Mythology
Age: older than dirt
Gender: Female

Canon Point: Fall of Rome
History: Welcome to the world of Greek Mythology, where your father can be your baby's daddy, and your mother could be on the Queen Goddess's shitlist because she slept with the King God. There are also prancing half-horse-half-men who are randier than your average pubescent boy with a Playboy magazine. A pretty girl can cause a ten-year-long war, and a goddess can wreck your perfectly happy married life because she thinks you and that girl across the street would make a better match. Basically, the gods have the power, and the mortals are their toys. The gods make centuries pass by torturing and exploiting and creating and vandalizing multitude of situations which give them means for amusement. Sometimes there are gods are actually nice...but they are eventually silence by the mean gods and then made to dance for those gods' entertainment.

It's basically hell in a hand-basket, or as the Greeks say, Hades in a hand-basket.

Persephone's history is constantly debatable by version of mythos. I've put together this history using various versions of Persephone's background with what best fits the young goddess.

Persephone is the product of a brief affair between Demeter, the goddess of harvest, and Zeus, the god of thunder and big damn ruler of Olympus. From the moment Persephone was conceived, Demeter adored her child. She lavished Persephone with affections and attentions that grew to be quite overwhelming, and practically suffocating. By the time Persephone was of ripe age for courting, Demeter had already scared off any potential suitors, keeping a hold on her daughter's free-will.

But not all the nymph nannies could keep Persephone from catching a glimpse of the God of the Underworld, Hades. And just as Persephone caught a glimpse of Hades, Hades caught a glimpse of Persephone. Needless to say, they became intrigued and eventually besotted with one another. But couldn't find the time to be together with overbearing Demeter keeping Persephone tied to her harvest-bound apron strings.

But then one glorious day, while Demeter was away, having left Persephone in the care of the nymph nannies, Hades came to the surface world. Persephone jumped at her chance of freedom and urged Hades to take her for his own. And so, Hades did. He and Persephone fled to the Underworld where they spent precious time enjoying one another's company and conversing by the Lefe river. Eventually they even married, Persephone becoming Hades's queen.

However, this had to come to an end, when the spiteful Demeter grew so enraged at the betrayal of her own flesh and goddess blood, that she refused to let the earth grow. This caused problems, since without the harvest, there was no tribute, and without tribute, there was no further worship of Olympus. Zeus stepped in and ordered for Hades to return Persephone to Demeter. Hades and Persephone were reluctant, but they made a plan. Persephone ate a pomegranate grown within the Underworld, eternally binding herself to Hades, but allowing herself to be with her mother once more for at least part of each year.

Demeter was not happy about this trick, but allowed it in exchange for having her daughter back. However, each time her daughter returned to Hades, she grew spiteful and let the earth wither once more. At first, Zeus was concerned, but then saw the benefit of Persephone's comings and goings. Each time Demeter let the earth wither, it let the earth rest, so that when Persephone returned, the earth was more bountiful than before. This caused more tributes and praises to Olympus, and Zeus awarded Persephone the title as Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld, Creator of Seasons.

Personality: Persephone is a bubbly by default kind of girl that you'll meet at parties and only five minutes into the conversation, you already want to spin her about the dance floor all night. She's a very friendly, incredibly vivacious young lady who smiles constantly and laughs as much as she breathes. If she weren't an all powerful immortal, she'd probably exhaust herself of energy in one day flat. Though she is Queen of the Underworld, Persephone does not lounge upon her iron throne, as most mortals depict-- rather, she assists her husband in his deadly duties. With an energetic bounce in her pink-high-heel shoed step, Persephone acts as a passing station before all Underworld news is finally given to Hades. It is she who corrects number discrepancies and fixes the little information loops that would otherwise frustrate and consume too much of Hades' time (and having to preside over all dead, that's already twenty dead people per second). Hades relies upon his wife to help keep the Underworld orderly, and when a problem pops up, it is rarely not Persephone who sets out to correct mistakes that had been foolishly made.

Protective of her husband, Persephone has a habit of butting heads with the other deities due to her marriage to Hades. Of all the Gods, Persephone claims that her husband is most level-headed, and in comparison to the track record of the other gods, Persephone is definitely not wrong. Persephone is faithful, though capable of a roving eye. This has caused Hades jealousy on occasion just as Hades's roving eye gives Persephone such furious jealousy that she can lock herself in her and her husband's rooms in the dark palace, and cause all Underworld plants to wither. Persephone's emotions definitely play a part in her powers. When she is happy, she can make flowers bloom just by the underside of her feet touching soft earth. When angry, touch and breath alike could wilt a rose from two yards away. If scared, all flowers in the vicinity close their petals and refuse to wake until their Goddess of Spring has been considerably calmed.

Oh, she can be vindictive. Whenever she catches a maiden showing romantic inclination towards her husband, Persephone turns the girls into new plants for her plant collection. She also doesn't take well to be slighted. Persephone does indeed have a bit of a soft ego, and is prone to tears and cruel looks whenever she is offended. Growing up, Demeter only spoiled her daughter's bad behavior. Whenever Persephone got into trouble with mortals, Demeter simply vanquished the mortals or sent them away. Persephone was Demeter's greatest treasure and denied nothing for which Persephone desired. It was only when Persephone was older did she transition from the brat stage and understand the scope of the world beyond her mother's crushing hold. The one thing Demeter denied Persephone was freedom, as well as a paramour (Demeter had many, but refused to involve her daughter), preferring to keep Persephone innocent and untouched by man. Obviously, Persephone would have enough of being her mother's bauble, and ran away with Hades when he offered her the chance.

When Persephone is sad, all plant life touched by her goddess powers will be affected. When she weeps, the daisies droop. When she is angry, the roses grow extra thorns. When she is confused, the vines curl. And as such is such, she takes this trait from her mother, who makes the world wilt for winter or when she's overjoyed, spring bursts forth. The same goes for Persephone, however, Persephone is more careful -- whereas Demeter can be quite malicious with her abilities, Persephone tries to not make too many people suffer when she is going through a particularly bad mood.

Powers: Persephone is a goddess. She is immortal -- besides that, she can still be harmed. Long age does her well and eternal youth are a definite plus, but Persephone can still bleed and cry and faint like any other person. The real difference lies in her healing capabilities. Because she's a goddess, she is able to heal faster than a normal person, unless poisoned indefinitely. Her recovery period depends on the wound, but the average wound takes about half a day to heal, due to the energy she puts into her work as not only a spring goddess, but a death goddess as well. It is her power that coats the Underworld in beautiful life where once had been nothing but death. It is also her power that reaches across great distances from land to underground to protect the souls of the deceased. She also spends her hours when she's supposed to be sleeping, working together with Hades is Persephone's dearest and she'd drop into a poisonous coma before ever letting Hades down.

As Persephone is the daughter of Demeter, she has ability to control all plant life. By her emotions, she can cause plants to react -- as mentioned above in her personality -- even when out of her say. Persephone can make a seed pop a sprout in an instant, turn a pile of vines into a stairways, cause a poisonous plant to lose its edge, and many other plant-related talents, such as communing with flora (and even fauna) around her much like her mother. Persephone is very much your typical flower child, able to douse a bad mood in a bed of roses, or light up any dark corner of boredom with some wild poppies chittering about seedlings.

Other immortal abilities include glowing, floating, causing a minor weather disturbance (such as invoking rain when the skies darken by clouds) and being able to temporarily turn those who themselves enemies of the gods into small plants. But only temporarily, as with the fall of the Roman Empire, Persephone's enchantments are no longer as powerful as they used to be.

Persephone is very much a fruit and vegetable favoring young lady. While her husband and most other gods eat meat, Persephone prefers the fruits of the earth's labors. As she is a goddess, she does not require meat protein in her diet, although if she goes long without food at all, she does become a tad pale, and even for the Queen of the Underworld, that's a bad thing. Regarding meats, Persephone is quite a bad cook. She burns every steak she touches and as such, she is no longer allowed to watch a grill while meat cooks.

Another of Persephone's skills is gardening. Plants are her speciality, and by that I mean -- anything at all that has been grown out of dirt or soil. Her gardens are always the most beautiful in all the kingdoms of the gods (excluding her mother's, which are always more beautiful than the last) and takes great pride in her prowess.

Persephone is of average intelligence outside plants and animals. But her keen memory allows her to remember information from long ago, as well as pinpoint an exact date time of an event in her memories. This allows her to remember things such as Hades's directions to managing the dead court, to being absolutely cold towards Hades at the memory of one of his past "flower-girls".

All these powers...will need to be tampered down. MAJORLY. In this setting, Persephone would only have her ability to glow, retain a small fraction of her healing abilities, and the ability to listen into the earth (ie. talking to plants) but she can only hear one at a time and never on incredibly wide scale. If she attempts wide scale, then she'll instantly exhaust herself and be out cold for two days.
